HAZELTON LANES AND WHOLE FOODS MARKET PRESENT
“LIVING WELL AT THE LANES”
HEALTH & WELLNESS SHOW OCTOBER 24TH - 26TH

East meets West at a 3-day consumer show designed to bring together both traditional and alternative health and well being practices, products and demonstrations. Hosted by special guest speaker, June Rogers, Health Editor of Chatelaine Magazine, the theme of “Living Well at the LANES” is Vibration, Vitality and Vision. Over 20 exhibitors from Wellness Dentistry, Yoga, Shiatsu, the Homeopathic College of Canada, to Chiropractic, Feng Shui and Massage Therapy will show the public how to utilize the tools within reach of our daily lives to improve health and enhance our lifestyles.

The idea for the Health & Wellness Show, a new concept in consumer shows, was the brainchild of publicist and Registered Nurse, Valerie Dooley, who successfully battled breast cancer for two years. Dooley became a proponent of natural alternatives in addition to prescribed medical recommendations.

“I realized that during my cancer treatments it was vital for me to become an advocate of my own health through education and to demand full disclosure. With the ever-increasing interest and acceptance into the mainstream of alternative therapies, the public has come to recognize that conventional medicine alone is not the only answer.”

“Living Well at the LANES” will take place under the newly renovated Hazelton Lanes’ sky-lit Rotunda, designed with a Feng Shui plan. Hourly, each day, speakers and demonstrators will use the stage area to present their products and services, sharing their knowledge and expertise with the public.

Key-note speakers include Toronto practitioner, Dr. Dana Colson, who will address “Wellness and Cosmetic Dentistry”; Dr. Vincent Demarco, founder and Medical Director of The Clinic for Optimal Health and Rejuvenation in Toronto, speaking on “Solutions to the Hormone Replacement Crisis” and multi award-winning and world renowned nutritional research scientist, Dr. David Jenkins will share his discoveries on the subject of “Soy Protein Diets.” Dr. Jenkins is the inventor of the Glycemic Index and the recent recipient of a Canada Research Chair in Metabolism and Nutrition of the Canadian Government.

Cooking demonstrations throughout the three-day event will be presented by Chef Elaina Asselin of Whole Foods Market; Daniel Gilbert of the Nobelton Restaurant & Country Inn and Deepika Mital of Terra Pasta. In addition, annual “Feast of Fields” chefs Jen Johnson and Deborah Nicholas, Niagara Street Café; Stephen Perrin, Terra Restaurant and Wendy Holmes, the Woodside Restaurant will explain the health benefits of cooking with organic ingredients.

“Living Well at the LANES” is free to the public and runs Thursday, October 24th,
10 a.m.-8p.m.; Friday, October 25th, 11a.m.-8p.m. and Saturday, October 26th, 10 a.m. - 6p.m.

Hazelton Lanes is located at 55-87 Avenue Road, Toronto (in Yorkville, 2 blocks North of Bloor Street, on the east side.)
